824 - Are you in sales? We're all in sales.

I was terrified of sales when I first started in the industry.
I used to say the same thing many people say, "I'm not a salesman."
Over the years, I've learned that is not true.
We are all constantly selling ourselves, our ideas, and the things we believe in.
"Sales" is nothing more than presenting a service, product, or idea to others that may bring value to them.
No one has a product or service that will fit everyone's needs.
Being in sales means meeting people, learning about them, and when they're ready, telling them what you have to offer.
"Sales" is not pitching-slapping people into buying.
No matter what we sell, we should never push people into buying.
People like to buy; they don't like to be sold.
I get requests daily to watch sales videos and sign up for courses without knowing anything about the person giving the course.
There is a lot of one-way information exchange.
I use a phrase to remind myself to say HELLO to people first.
Wherever you go, say Hello!
It's that easy. Start talking to people and learn about them first.
Don't waste people's time, but do show that you're interested.
This is no different for those making sales calls than for those who walk into a company to set an appointment with a decision-maker.
Embrace the side of you that has something to share. Some people will think you are selling to them and others will be happy you shared with them.
Are you still afraid to be considered a salesperson?
