Today is not a national day of mental health recognition. It's the entire world.
What is going on that the entire planet seems to be in a mental health crisis?
We must focus on good mental health instead of the current focus on fear, anxiety, and stress.
Mother Teresa once said, "If you hold an anti-war rally, I shall not attend. But if you hold a Pro-Peace rally, invite me."
I am not trying to downplay the mental health issues this planet faces.
A few things we can all do to improve our own mental health are:
1) Be kind to yourself! This may help more people than we realize.
Practice positive self-talk by focusing on your strengths and achievements! YES, you have strengths
2) Make time for daily self-care, in whatever form that works for you.
Take a walk, take a nap, meditate, do Yoga
3) Surround yourself with supportive people who lift you up
4) Turn off your TV!! This may be the most important one.
These steps sound simplistic to some. But to most people, they are great steps towards having a clear mind.
I met with Lin Schussler-Williams recently, who has an innovative program to help people release the limiting beliefs holding them back.
Unlike traditional approaches that dig into the past, this method empowers individuals to move forward confidently and clearly.
The result? Greater self-awareness, improved decision-making, and the freedom to live life to the fullest.
I tried it and was amazed at the results. I didn't think I needed it, but the results were exciting.
I love things that expand my mind and see more clearly.
What positive things do you do for your mental health and those around you on this World Mental Health Day?
