830 - Take Time To Be Present

Today, an Annular Eclipse will cross the US from the west, in Oregon, down through Nevada, Utah, New Mexico, and Texas.

It will continue through Central and South America.

This kind of event doesn't excite some people. Many people are oblivious that it is even occurring.

But the more I learn to be in the present moment, the more I learn to embrace these kinds of events.

We have clear skies, and it's a great time to gather and bond with neighbors.

We'll be out in our lawn chairs, a cup of coffee in hand, to sit back and be present for a few hours.

We will all have our special glasses because the "Ring of Fire," as it's called, can not be viewed with bare eyes.

How does this relate to business?

Being present when with clients, in the meeting room, or sitting at our desks has become a lost art.

Some people have many devices running at any given time. Alerts to news, meetings, messages, and other information come at us throughout the day.

It's not only okay to turn it all off. It's imperative to reduce stress.

The days of the water cooler are gone. Those moments helped employees take a breath and reconnect with others.

You may be sitting in a lawn chair on a Saturday morning or standing at a water cooler at work.

Connecting with others and being present can be a powerful energizer.
