After months of concern about the care her mother was receiving, my friend, Pam, removed her mother from assisted living when her mother was diagnosed with stage 4 bedsores.
Pam filed a complaint against the assisted living facility.
A week after her mother left the facility, Pam received a call from someone with Adult Protective Services. She spoke with APS for a few minutes then asked if they were investigating the assisted living facility.
APS responded, "No, we're investigating you."
At that point, Pam refused to answer any more questions and told them to talk to her attorney from now on.
The APS rep made fun of her, sarcastically saying "Yeah, right, so you have a lawyer?"
Pam replied that she has a law firm and when she gave the 5 partner title of the law firm there was silence on the other end of the phone.
Long story short, Pam's LegalShield attorney called APS and wrote a scathing letter to them.
The investigation stopped and investigation into the assisted living facility ensued.
The cost to Pam? No charge.
The actions her attorney took are covered under her monthly membership.
What would you do?
