There is a quote by T. Harv Eker, "How you do anything is how you do everything."

Yesterday, I was on a phone call with one of my team.

As we spoke, I kept hearing a loud chirp in the background.

I soon realized that it was her smoke alarm battery chirping because it needed to be replaced.

When I mentioned it to her and she seemed oblivious about what it was, that it was going off or where it was coming from.

I wondered how anyone could be so oblivious to something as important as a smoke alarm?

It occurred to me that this was exactly how this colleague approached business.

She is oblivious to so many things around her that are holding her back.

She portrays herself as confident, professional, and highly qualified but she is not aware of her surroundings.

How you do anything is how you do everything.

Regardless of what kind of business you're in, it's important to take care of the small (yet vital) things as well as those that you care how the most.

Are you one of those people who doesn't pay attention to details that could cause bigger issues if left unattended?

Are you aware of your surroundings?
