Gift card fraud is on the rise.

When it happens, you may be out of the amount you put on the card.

Often, the store you bought the card at may claim no responsibility. The company promoting the cards (Visa, Mastercard, gaming, restaurants, etc) also claims no responsibility.

You can become entangled in a communication web that leads you nowhere.

These companies are hoping you will eventually give up. They know you won't engage a lawyer because that could cost as much or more than the card was worth, UNLESS...

Unless you have a robust legal service that empowers you to have a lawyer write you a letter on your behalf at no cost above the membership or less than $1 per day!

I bought a gaming card once as a gift. Less than 3 minutes later, I returned to the store to complain that the card had already been used and had a zero balance.

The store, a large grocery chain in Texas, said they couldn't help. I would have to contact the gaming card company. It's not easy to find these companies.

Once I located the company, they said they could do nothing.

I got my lawyer involved in writing a letter and received reimbursement for the card.

You can go through the hassle of haggling with customer service or have your lawyer write to the legal department. The outcome with the lawyer was far less stressful, and I got better results.

Have you experienced a gift card scam? Do you know someone who did?
