An EAP (Employee Assistance Program) is a great way to offer employees additional benefits under one umbrella, making it easier for the benefits providers and human resources.

But those services, awhile appreciated, are seldom comprehensive.

In fact, they may be shortchanging your employees because, well, you get what you pay for.

Identity Theft protection is one of those services.

Identity theft protection is one of the most sought-after benefits these days, for good reason.

A comprehensive Identity theft protection protects both the employee and the business.

I have yet to see truly robust identity theft coverage in an EAP and the worst part is, most benefits providers know the services are limited.

They are usually the equivalent of putting a bandaid on your knee to prevent a massive heart attack.

In other words, very little protection at all.

What about the legal protection services?

Do they offer access to talk to attorneys in all areas of law for an unlimited number of issues?

Are employees covered 24/7/365 to have an attorney available for emergency situations?

If not, we need to talk.

Why offer smoke and mirrors services when it costs your company nothing to offer more robust protection; services that could potentially save your company from liability issues in the event of a data breach?

Is your EAP shortchanging your employees?
