In his debut book, The Tipping Point, @MalcolmGladwell describes what he calls three "agents of change" in the tipping point of epidemics.
In the chapter The Law of the Few, Gladwell says "The success of any kind of social epidemic is heavily dependent on the involvement of people with a particular and rare set of social gifts."
The three types of people are Connectors, Mavens, and Salesmen.
Connectors are people who are great at making introductions. They know a large number of people who come from different circles and their gift is bringing people together.
Mavens are the information gatherers. They are knowledge seekers and they love sharing it with others.
Salesmen have excellent negotiation skills and are highly persuasive. They are quick at building relationships and gaining the trust of others.
Which of these 3 are you most gifted at?
I find that more than anything I am a Connector. I get immense joy out of connecting people.
However, among my peers, I am known as a Maven. I am usually up on the latest training, events, and news within our company and am considered (quite unintentionally) as the "go-to person".
