You don't know what people are looking for unless you ask, right?

Whatever you are selling, someone needs it or wants it, but you can't reach them all so we join networks.

If you educate your network to ask the right questions and look for clues to help find prospects for you.

Never try to sell directly to your group. They are business people just like you, growing their businesses. If they need your services they will let you know by the information you give them.

Do 1-2-1s. Meeting one-to-one is vital. Get to know your network.

Your network is an extension of your sales funnel. They can help bring you referrals (qualified leads) if you educated them properly.

A roofer in my business group once told us to look for snow-covered roofs with bare spots. It was winter in Michigan with lots of snow on roofs. Bare spots are an indication the roof is not properly insulated. To this day I still look unconsciously for bare spots, and I live in Texas!! But his message was clear and simple.

Give your networking partners keywords and questions to ask so they will remember you as they meet people. Not everyone will want what you have, but you can bring them value by solving other problems in the way of referrals.

ALWAYS, ask the person for permission for your referral partner to call them We know our fellow business people will be motivated to call. The referral, not so much.

For my own business, one question I like to ask is, "if you could pick up the phone and talk to a qualified attorney without getting a big bill, would you?" Of course, there are others. Confused and frustrated business owners are another great clue.
